2009 Rankings - College Fantasy Football Insider’s Draftkit

College Fantasy Football Insider is one of my favore resources for college advice.  CFFI has made a name for themselves by focusing just on college fantasy football and blowing us away with tons of content, often posted earlier than anyone else.  There is a lot more to their site than just their rankings, but that is what we will take a look at in this post.  These rankings come from their 2009 College Fantasy Football Draft Kit.  They’ve got a ton of players ranked, filtered by position, class, conference, etc.  It’s a must stop for any serious drafter.

How many TD’s will Case Keenum and Sam Bradford throw for combined this season?  100?  They are ranked 1 and 5 on CFFI’s QB list.  Tim Tebow, Taylor Potts, and Colt McCoy are 2, 3, and 4.  All five of these guys are going to be fantasy monsters this season.  I wouldn’t take Potts over McCoy or Bradford, though.  The Big 12 has 3 of the top 5 QBs and 6 of the top 13.  All Big-12 fantasy college football leagues should be fun.  Don’t forget about USC quarterback Aaron Corp and Hawaii’s Greg Alexander.  Both of these guys may see their stock rise before fantasy draft season.

For Running Backs, the Pac 10 reigns supreme.  FFCI has three in the top 5 - LaGarrette Blount, Jacquizz Rodgers, and Jahvid Best.  Is it just me or was it much easier to spell college players’ names just a few years ago?  MiQuale Lewis comes in at a respectable 6th on this list, but I wouldn’t be scurred to take him higher.  Last year’s number 1 RB should roll through the MAC competition again.

TD machine Dez Bryant is a no brainer for the top WR choice this season.  He and the other Dez B., second-ranked Dezmond Briscoe are both a pleasure to own.  See if you can land both of them on one of your Big 12 league teams just for fun.  Interestingly, CFFI’s top 8 all come from the Big 12 and Conference USA.
